Basically…
I started this blog in late January, 2007. It’s a safe haven for me. Somewhere I can write about whatever I feel like writing about. Somewhere I can go to be honest. Somewhere I can go to lie, if I feel like it.
Above all, it’s a place I can go to just be myself. Isn’t that what everyone wants?
The Name…
I wanted to come up with something unique and memorable to call my blog. I tossed around a lot of ideas, one of which was Red Boot Mafia. I liked it – it was catchy and slightly ironic – but I kept going back to the fact that it was color-specific. I felt like that would limit me. A blue template? I thought they were red boots! I decided to keep the “mafia” part, but replace it with something else. I wanted it to be clever, but mostly ironic. I’m all about the irony. And what is more ironic than a mafia of squirt gun thugs?

I write about whatever pleases me. Organizing my Firefox bookmarks, making fun of bad songs, politics, mediocre poetry – all are fair game here at SGM.
